I am a writer and heritage researcher from the north east of Scotland with a background in marketing and communications, and a postgraduate degree in Heritage and Interpretation. My interests have led me to roles with the National Trust for Scotland and the University of the Highlands and Islands Centre for Recreation and Tourism Research, where I recently delivered a four-year digital cultural heritage project, ‘The Coast that Shaped the World.’
Having self-published a companion guide book to The Deeside Way at the end of 2022, I am currently working on developing my next book idea.
In February 2024 I started a new role which combines so many of my passions, writing for historical research agency, Pursuing the Past.
The plan is to expand this site to share more news and updates about my work. In the meantime, you can contact me here.
What inspires me?
Stories: I believe in the power of stories to connect people across time and space. Whether it’s unravelling historical narratives or capturing contemporary moments, storytelling is at the heart of what I love to do.
Cultural Heritage: My passion lies in preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between the past and the present.
Engaging Content: I thrive on creating content that resonates. From articles to multimedia experiences, I love crafting engaging material that sparks curiosity.
Sense of Place: Every location has a unique story. I’m fascinated by the sense of place - the layers of history, and the people who have shaped it.
